When you arrive at the Sun Valley church of Christ you will be greeted by kind, loving people who are genuinely happy that you have blessed us with an opportunity to get to know you. Look around, read the screens near the auditorium for announcements and activities, take some of the biblical material displayed in the foyer. Don’t have a bible? There are bibles in the foyer as well. All materials are free and are yours to keep. Our sincere desire is to share the gospel with as many people as possible, there’s no catch, no hidden agenda, just straight bible teaching and living. No, we’re not perfect but we strive to walk in the light of Christ (1 John 1:7) each day knowing that we’ve been forgiven (Mark 16:16; Acts 22:16). If you have questions about God and His word, about biblical Christianity, or any other religious question, we would consider it an honor and a privilege to open up God’s word and study to find the answer.

It is our hope that you will be encouraged by our worship services. Being governed by the Bible, you will find us observing only that which is contained in it. We model our worship after the first-century church and it is designed to draw each of us closer to God and provide an atmosphere that will allow all to worship God in reverence to His will (John 4:24). Because worship is participation, you are warmly encouraged to join us in each item of worship.

Singing - As Christians we are commanded to sing and make melody in our hearts (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).Because of this, we feel it would be an addition to God’s will if we added or employed an instrument. Therefore, no mechanical instruments of music are used, only our voices. We encourage you to sing along with us. To many, our song worship will be a highlight.

Teaching - Our teaching is taken only from God’s Holy Word and is designed to instruct and encourage you in the ways of righteousness. It is our endeavor to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 15:1-5).

Prayer - In our worship service we have communication with God, through prayer. The prayers are designed to give God glory, to thank God for His blessings, and to request His continued care of us.

Communion - The Lord’s supper is observed just as the Scripture portrays it on the night when our Lord was betrayed. After giving thanks for the bread, which represents His body, it is passed to the congregation (Acts 20:7). Then we give thanks for the cup, which represents Christ’s shed blood, and pass it to the congregation. This we observe each and every Lord’s day and it is the highlight of our worship to the Lord (1Corinthians 11:23-36).

Contribution - The collection, or contribution, is taken at the Sunday worship service. At this time, each person gives of his means as he has been prospered and purposed in his heart ( 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7).
